I just did some reading about Radio Moscow. They had transmitters all over the place, but the amazing thing was the power. One was transmitting at 2.5MW. 8O Where they ensuring that the whole galaxy could hear them?

Really? Are you sure?
4RO and the ABC (which was long before the ABC was cool) were it.
So that's now double what you originally said. How about we make it triple and add Radio Australia?

One radio station that played actual music, correct. Country ABC wasn't real big on the latest tunes.

I thought that Radio Australia is less music and more talk. It is a propaganda station after all.

Probably. Do you really think you listen to ABC rural radio as a 10 year old?

I'll tell you what. It's a frigging good day when you cop a heap of really really good Raaaage from 0300 or so, you have a full carton, get through all that, go to the pub at 1100, get the juke box going, meet some really really funny germans who want to take you to the casino ( :nono: not right now thanks, Energex are hounding me), think that at your age discretion dictates a return to home before dark, plus I wanted to catch SBS news at 1830, and you stumble onto the Bluuuuuuuueeeeees Brothers on Eleven instead when flicking for the news. And you become incredibly happy and don't a flying fsuck what happened in the world since this morning. :e_wink: Oh and Raaaaaaggggee is going off tonight. Great music coming.

Where the fsuck can you get stay awake pills at this time of day????

28 Days Later...
(2002) Horror. Cillian Murphy, Christopher Eccleston. (AV)

A really terrifying film that is incredibly well done on not a huge budget. If you like your post-apocalyptic mixed with sheer terror, you are crazy to miss this.

Great soundtrack.

Done by Danny Boyle. Nuff said.

I'll even pass on this (GO TO CONFESSION YOU PYTHON HEATHEN!!!!) only because I know all the dialogue off by heart (yep - one of those - I even annoy myself with it) but it can't be helped the words must be said when they are heard....

9.30pm
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
(1975) Comedy. Graham Chapman, John Cleese. (PG)

Fistful of Dollars
(1964) Western. Clint Eastwood, Marianne Koch. (AV) Premiere

Not my most liked genre, but Sergio Leone directing and Clint in an iconic film I haven't seen for decades? I came home from the pub for it. 8O

My guess is I'll get bored with it within 10 minutes, check the Raaaaaaaageee playlist instead, know none of it and not be in an adventurous mood music wise, so stick on Clockwork Orange and put it up loud, get a phone call from downstairs to turn the TV down please as you've woken the baby, yet again. Drink more XXXX and fall asleep on the lounge.

I could almost sell tickets to that....... :hehe:

Nup. De Niro & Scorcsese rules........Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Cape Fear, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Casino? Tick three or four of the greatest films ever made. That is quite a C.V.

Watching Cape Fear at 0500 on a Saturday. I need a GF. :hehe: Although, thinking about it........dunno - what are the odds of her being more interesting than De Niro and Scorcsese at 0500? :scratchchin:

 I don't reckon it's his best film. You simply can't go past Taxi Driver. (where is my correct avatar you bastard  ). Watched a 'making of' DVD of it last week. Fascinating. De Niro been a method boy actually got a job as an anon taxi driver for 6 weeks doing nights to get the feel of it. Jodie Foster hung out with a real teenage hooker. If you know the film well, there is a scene where Foster walks in front of the cab with another girl in traffic and they throw Travis a look and sassy off. The other girl is the actual hooker with Foster.

The Proposition
(2005) Crime. (MA)

Thank Mohamed I left the pub - fsuck me the local gets to a point where people just start going mental. Drunk as skunks and feeling a bit different because they aren't locals. Plus I could no longer hear my juke box I'd programmed from the fsucking stupid yatter.

Great film. Well worth watching.

Yeah - we do such good stuff so often and no-one here sees it. We'll go and see Godzilla 13 first on mass. :banghead: :banghead: I fsucking hate ozzies at times. Idiots in so many frustrating ways.

Apocalypse Now
(1979) War. Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando. (AV)

Fsuck me I nearly missed this - watched the redux version in a cinema and a 'how it was made'. Proof positive utter chaos, actual warfare and total 'I don't know anymore, stop asking me what is going to happen tomorrow, I don't fsucking know' can all come together to become legendary.

I love that the choppers used to often head off mid-shot and go and actually shoot up people in a real war, and Coppola would get pissed off because of the amount of money running out of his veins every second. Dealing with fsucked up actors who were actually completely drunk and stoned and insane. And pull off some of the most memorable stuff you'll ever see. :hehe:

We all know Charlie don't surf.

So you can imagine this sort of carry on in a large theatre on a large screen with volume and bass cranked. I wanted to leave the US military there and then and stop flying helicopters (or maybe get more into it?) but eventually came too and realised it was a film, but then I doubted myself about all of it.

And the whole finding Brando thing hasn't even started. It is a hell of a film........ 8O

He's still got it.

Single handedly put Australia on the map international map and earlier allowed us to no longer be embarrassed about or self conscious about ourselves and our national character.

He still sounds more Oz than I do after living there for 25 years.

You just can't not like Hoges.

He really is a fsucking funny character. I grew up with him and Strop when I'd just learnt to walk. I loved that show. Probably where I got any sense of humour from as a small child. So quintessentially Australian and quietly conquered the world in his field in every respect it makes your heart burst with pride.

Anyway - great film - long before it became part of the language = people didn't like it when new, fsuck didn't even know it existed - they were fsuck wits. Know they'll acknowledge they were fsuck wits and it should be allowed to at least kick them in the head a few times and/or in the shins for being stupid origanally and spreading it.
